19. Boost Converter Inductor Selection

Kiran is designing a boost converter to generate 12V from a 3.7V Li-ion battery. 

The 12V output can supply up to 0.5A load current. 

He has designed the converter to use a 10 µH shielded power inductor to store switching energy.

Help him select a suitable SMD shielded power inductor

Make sure it can handle the higher input-side current safely, has enough saturation margin, and keeps power loss low.
