14. PTC Fuse for DC Motor Stall Protection

Neha is designing a 12V DC motor controller for automated equipment. 

The motor draws 1.5A during normal operation but can draw 5A or more if the motor stalls due to a mechanical jam. 

To protect the motor driver from sustained overcurrent during stall, she needs a through-hole PTC resettable fuse in series with the motor supply. 

The fuse must hold above normal motor current with margin for thermal derating in a warm enclosure, and trip on stall current, then reset automatically when the jam is cleared.
