28. Relay Flyback Diode Selection

Aarav is designing a 12V relay driver circuit using a transistor. 

To protect the transistor from the relay coil’s reverse voltage spike during turn-OFF, he places a diode across the relay coil. 

The relay coil current is 80 mA, and he wants an SMD diode in SMA package. 

Help him select a suitable diode from DigiKey. 

Make sure it is suitable for flyback protection, can safely handle the required current, and works reliably in industrial temperatures.
