8. SMD Fuse for USB Input Protection

Aarav is designing a USB-powered embedded board. The board draws up to 2A from a 5V USB input

To protect the board from overcurrent and short circuit, he needs an SMD board-mount fuse at the input.

Considering standard fuse derating practice, the fuse should be rated above the normal operating current so it does not nuisance-blow under normal load.

The fuse should be fast-acting to quickly disconnect during a fault.

He wants a compact 1206 SMD package for PCB mounting.

The company's approved vendor list (AVL) specifies Littelfuse for circuit protection components, so the part must be selected from Littelfuse on DigiKey.

1206-SMD-fuse

Help him select a suitable board-mount SMD fuse from Littelfuse on DigiKey.
