13. Regulator Input Bulk Capacitor

Priya is designing a small embedded board powered from a 12V adapter. 

The board uses a 5V regulator, and the regulator input needs a bulk capacitor to reduce input ripple and support stable operation during load changes. 

She decides to add a 47 µF SMD aluminum electrolytic capacitor at the regulator input.
